This document must be reviewed by a lawyer before publication. Items in brackets must be completed.
1. Purpose
These terms of use (the "Terms") set the rules for accessing and using the qrtada.com website and the QRTada service (the "Service"), published by [TO COMPLETE: first and last name], EI, a French sole trader ("QRTada", "we"). They apply to anyone who visits the website, creates an account, or uses the application or API ("you").
Paid subscriptions are governed by the terms of sale. Allowed and prohibited content is set out in the acceptable use policy, which forms part of these Terms.
2. Access to the Service
Without an account, anyone can customize a QR code preview on the public website and use the free tools (online QR code scanner, print size calculator, WhatsApp link generator, UTM builder, Google review link). Downloading and creating QR codes requires an account with an active trial or subscription.
The Service is available online in English and French. You provide, at your own cost, the equipment and connection needed to use it.
3. Your account
Creation
You can sign up with an email address and password (at least 10 characters), a Google account, or a sign-in link sent by email. You must be an adult (or have your legal guardian's permission), provide accurate information and accept these Terms. Your email address must be verified before the end of your trial.
Security
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Two-factor authentication is off by default; you can turn it on at any time in your settings, with one method of your choice: an authenticator app or a code sent by email. Backup codes are provided when you enable it. You can review your active sessions and sign them out remotely. Report any unauthorized use promptly to [TO COMPLETE: support email].
Workspaces and teams
An account can belong to one or more workspaces. Depending on the plan, a workspace owner can invite members with a role (owner, admin, editor, viewer). The owner is responsible for the access they grant and for their members' actions. Invitations are valid for 7 days.
4. How QR codes work
- Static code: the data is written into the QR code itself. It cannot be edited or tracked once downloaded.
- Dynamic code: the QR code contains a short address (qrtada.com/xxxxxx or a custom domain) that redirects to the destination you choose. You can change the destination and scans are counted. The short address and domain chosen at creation cannot be changed afterwards, since they are printed.
- Reserved addresses: some words cannot be used as a custom short address (website page names, trademarks, offensive terms). We may refuse a custom address that is misleading or infringes someone else's rights.
- Scannability: we automatically check contrast and decoding before download. You remain responsible for testing the code on the final medium before printing in volume.
- Lifetime guarantee: when a code keeps working after a subscription ends is defined in section 10 of the terms of sale.
5. Your content
You can upload content: destinations, text, logos, images, PDFs, and hosted page information (menu, link page, business card, event, gallery, coupon).
- You warrant that you hold the necessary rights and that publishing this content does not infringe any third-party right or law.
- You keep ownership of your content. You grant QRTada a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, technically adapt (resize, compress, convert) and display it, solely to provide the Service (hosted pages, exports, backups) and only for as long as necessary.
- Accepted files are images (PNG, JPG, WebP), SVG (stripped of any script) and PDF, within your plan's size and storage limits. Encrypted files or files containing active code are rejected. Images are re-encoded and their metadata (including location) removed.
- Hosted pages are not indexed by search engines unless you enable that option where your plan allows it.
We do not review content before publication, but we check destination reputation at creation, on every edit and periodically afterwards. We act as a hosting provider under French law and the EU Digital Services Act.
6. Reporting, moderation and blocking
Anyone can report a code or page. Reports are handled within a target of 24 business hours. If content is illegal or breaches the acceptable use policy, we may block the code: it then no longer redirects and shows a warning page. You are informed by email of the decision and its reasons, and may appeal it. The full process is set out in the acceptable use policy.
7. API, webhooks and automation
The API and webhooks (Business plan) are accessed with API keys that you create and revoke from your account. Keys are confidential and must never be published. Use is subject to the rate and volume limits in the documentation; beyond them, requests are temporarily refused. Codes created with a test key do not count toward your limits.
Accessing the Service by automated means other than the documented API (scraping, mass account creation, bypassing limits or rate limits) is prohibited.
8. Custom domains
If you connect a custom domain, you must own it or be authorized to use it. You are solely responsible for its DNS configuration: if the domain stops pointing to QRTada, codes using it cannot work. We notify you by email when we detect this.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service, its code, trademark, logo, texts, design templates and documentation are protected. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for as long as you have access. You may freely use the QR codes and exports you generate for your own purposes, including commercial ones. You may not copy, decompile, resell or reproduce the Service, except where the law allows it.
A "Made with QRTada" mention may appear on hosted pages and interstitial pages, except on the Business plan with white label.

10. Availability
We strive to keep the Service continuously available, with absolute priority on redirects. The Service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or security reasons. We do not guarantee that it will be free of errors or interruptions.
11. Deleting your account
You can request deletion of your account at any time from your settings. Deletion happens 14 days after the request, during which you can cancel it. A clear warning is shown before you confirm: deleting your account permanently stops all dynamic QR codes and hosted pages of the workspaces you own, including those covered by the lifetime guarantee. Data is then deleted or anonymized as described in the privacy policy, except data we must keep by law (such as invoices).
Before deleting your account, you can export your data (codes, destinations, analytics) from your settings.
We may suspend or close an account for a serious breach of these Terms, under the conditions of the terms of sale, or delete an inactive trial account under our published retention rules.
12. Liability
You are solely responsible for your content, your codes' destinations and how you use the QR codes you generate. We are not responsible for the content of destination websites, nor for damage resulting from use of the Service that does not comply with these Terms.
Liability limits for subscriptions are set out in the terms of sale. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under mandatory law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, in particular to reflect changes in the law or in the Service. You will be informed by email or in the application at least 30 days before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the change; if you do not, you can delete your account or cancel your subscription.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of their country or state of residence. Jurisdiction and mediation are covered in the terms of sale and legal notice.
