The comparison at a glance

Monthly prices are those of Uniqode's help center article on plans, billed annually. The pricing page itself states that all plans are billed in US dollars and that only annual subscriptions are offered. Its price table is rendered in a way we could not read directly, so we rely on the help center figures.

The custom domain: included or add-on

A custom domain puts your codes on an address like qr.yourbrand.com instead of the provider's short domain. It builds trust at scan time, and it is the only way a printed code can follow you if you ever change providers. At QRTada, it comes with the Pro plan at $19 a month.

At Uniqode, the domain is an add-on on the Plus plan and is included in Business+. The figures differ from one official page to another: the help center describes Plus with a domain bundled at $1,688 a year, $500 a year per extra domain, and Business+ at $4,788 a year with one domain included, while the pricing page FAQ mentions $2,000 per domain per year on Plus. If the domain drives your choice, get the price confirmed in writing before you sign.

What happens to your codes after the trial and after you cancel?

Uniqode's pricing page is explicit on both points: "Once your free trial expires, any dynamic QR Codes you created will become inactive" and "If you decide to cancel your subscription, your QR Codes will become inactive." Its help center adds that "People scanning an expired QR Code will be prompted to an error page". Data is kept for 60 days according to the help center; the terms of service mention possible deletion within 30 days.

Renewal and cancellation terms

Uniqode's terms of service describe automatic renewal, with notice required no later than 90 days before the start of a renewal term. Its help center says cancellation takes effect from the next billing cycle and that email requests are not accepted. The pricing page mentions a 30-day money-back guarantee. At QRTada, monthly plans have no commitment: you cancel online, effective at the end of the month you paid for.

When Uniqode may suit you

If you run a large team that needs several users, an annual contract and procurement-friendly terms, and you plan to keep the subscription for as long as the codes are in print, Uniqode's higher plans are built for that. For a small business that wants a custom domain without a yearly commitment, or codes that survive a cancellation, the trade-offs above are worth weighing.

Switching to QRTada

1. List your codes and destinations in Uniqode before the end of your billing cycle.
2. Set up your custom domain on QRTada Pro, then recreate the codes, one by one or by CSV import (up to 100 per batch).
3. Reprint your materials: codes on Uniqode's domain cannot be taken over. If your Uniqode codes already used your own domain, you may avoid a reprint by pointing that domain to QRTada and recreating each code with the same path: test one code first, since path formats differ between services.
