What a vCard contains
vCard is the standard format address books use to exchange contacts. In a static code, the card itself sits in the pattern, in vCard 3.0 format:

The real problem with static vCards: density
A complete card easily passes 250 characters. Encoded as is, it produces a version 10 to 15 pattern, meaning 57 by 57 up to 77 by 77 modules. On a business card, where the code is about 0.8 to 1 inch wide, each module ends up smaller than 0.4 mm, and many phones stop reading it, especially in dim light.

The dynamic contact page solves it. The code holds a short link to a page with your photo, contact buttons and a "Save contact" button that downloads a .vcf file. What the contact page shows
Your photo, name, title and company at the top, then one-tap buttons: call, email, website, directions. Social profiles follow. The main button, "Save contact", downloads a .vcf with every field, so people keep a full card even if they never come back to the page. How phones save it
- iPhone: the camera opens the card and offers "Create New Contact" or "Add to Existing Contact".
- Android: depending on the brand, the camera or Google Lens offers to add the contact. The .vcf from the dynamic page opens in the Contacts app.
Common mistakes
- A number without the country code:
(512) 555-0147fails for anyone calling from abroad. Write+1 512 555 0147. - Too much data: two phones, two addresses and four emails make a static code unreadable. Keep what matters.
- A code printed too small: under 0.8 inch, go for the dynamic page. The business card guide covers sizes and margins.

Can I add a photo?
Yes with the dynamic contact page. A static vCard cannot carry an image: it would be far too heavy.
What if my phone number changes?
Update the dynamic contact page and every card already printed gives the right number. A static vCard must be reprinted.
Does it work offline?
The static vCard does. The dynamic contact page needs a connection to load.
Can I make cards for my whole team?

Do people need an app to scan it?
